Identification card for students
As amended by Act No. 111/1998 Coll. (§57) a proof of study at a university in the regular study program is a student card. As per Article 9, Paragraph 1 of the Study and Examination Regulations of the Silesian University in Opava, valid from 1 September 2013, the student is obliged to prove himself / herself with a valid student ID card with a current photograph. In this case, it is an electronic validity associated with the active status and current data of the student in the information system of the study agenda.
Each SU student is issued an ID card, which is active in SU’s electronic systems throughout his / her studies. In addition to this electronic validity, each ID card is also associated with the so-called visual validity, which is marked on the ID card and which can be extended with revalidation marks.
ID cards with GTS license can be used for discounts, which are provided by businesses in the discount database.
ID card request
New students
1st yeat students will have to fill out eletronic application in online system on following site karty.slu.cz.
Students who have paid the fee for ISIC, ALIVE (if you also applied for an IDK with a license), will receive a new student card in the main building of OPF SU at card Center at room A422 Card Cente

Students who already studied at OPF
Ordinary ID card will be renewed automatically, ID card with the ISIC license needs to extended via revalidation mark.
Revalidation mark
The revalidation stamp will be issued within 5 working days after the non-cash payment of the CC in room A422 in the Main Building of the OPF SU (Univerzitní náměstí 1934/3, 733 40 Karviná). Student ID card is also valid with the original personal number, with a change of personal number, the new ID card is NOT ISSUED free of charge!
Price list
First ID card
The production of the first ID card for every student, employee and graduate is free.
ID card with one of the GTS licenses (ISIC, ITIC, ALIVE) is charged with a license amount of 180 CZK.
After first ID card
The production of the second or another ID card after that is charged with a handling fee of 150 CZK.
For ID card with one of the GTS licenses (ISIC, ITIC, ALIVE) student is charged also license with amount of 180 CZK. (Total amount 330 CZK)
Extension of validity
Student’s ID card without any license is free.
Student’s ID card with license ISIC, ALIVE and employee ID card with license ALIVE, ITIC is charged 180 CZK per year
Payments
After the ID card application is checked, the applicant will receive a confirmation message at the university e-mail address. In the case of a graduate ID card, the applicant will receive an email to the address provided in the graduate ID card application. If a payment needs to be made by the applicant, it will also contain the relevant information for making that payment.
Payment must be made within 30 days of the applicant being informed by an e-mail to pay the relevant fees. If he fails to do so, his application will be canceled.

Student and employee
701 – for the payment of a license fee of CZK 180 for one of the GTS licenses (ISIC, ITIC, ALIVE) during the production of the card.
702 – for the payment of a handling fee of CZK 150 (when issuing the second and next IDK)
703 – for payment of 330 CZK (payment of license and handling fee together)
704 – for the payment of a license fee of CZK 180 for an annual re-validation mark with one of the GTS licenses (ISIC, ITIC, ALIVE).
Graduate
707 – for the payment of a license fee of CZK 180 for a GTS ALIVE license during the production of the card
708 – for the payment of a license fee of CZK 180 for an annual re-validation mark with a GTS ALIVE license
